Mrs. DeWolfe

Secondary Principal

Hey there! Welcome to the ORVA Spotlight! This entire section is co-written by Tori and Stephany, designed purely to give some attention to teachers and students alike who we think need attention brought to them!

For our first installation, we have chosen none other than Mrs. Jenifer DeWolfe, the principle of ORVA. Take a look below to get to know her. 😀

Q. What made you want to be a part of ORVA?

I love that ORVA gives students all across the state a different way to do school. If ORVA had been around when I was in Junior High I definitely would have wanted to go to school there.  I taught at another online school for four years before coming to ORVA. I liked that it was a larger school with more programs and options for students.

Q. Do you have any hobbies outside of school?

My hobbies are painting, hiking, playing video games, watching baseball and baking.

Q. What is your job like on a day to day basis? What is your favorite part?

First of all, I really do like my job. We have a great team (teachers, advisors, administrators and staff in our main office) who work to make our school better on a daily basis. My day to day job changes but in general I work to build programs that will benefit students, track data and resolve issues that come up. The issues might be different each day but I spend a lot of time working toward solutions that will help us move forward.

Q. Do you have any tips for new or returning students?

Here are my two tips: create a schedule and communicate with your teachers. Include your live class times, time to do your offline work and to take breaks in your schedule. Stay in contact with your teachers and don’t hesitate to ask questions.

Q. What is your favorite place/part of Oregon?

Central Oregon is my favorite part of the state. I grew up in Prineville. 🙂

Q. if you had to pick a job to do other than teaching, what would it be?

I would absolutely be a paleontologist.

Q. if you could choose anywhere to live, where would you go?

I got to travel a bit when I was younger and for some reason Switzerland felt like home. I loved the people, the mountains, the alpine lakes… it was amazing.
